Community Service & Partnerships

Service is the heart of our sisterhood.

Since our founding in 1920, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated has been an organization built on the principles of Scholarship, Service, Sisterhood, and Finer Womanhood. In Alpha Epsilon Zeta Chapter, we translate these principles into direct, impactful action across Wyandotte, Johnson, Leavenworth, and Linn Counties in Kansas.

We believe that sustainable community growth happens through collaboration. We actively seek partnerships with local schools, nonprofits, civic organizations, and healthcare advocacy groups to uplift individuals and families across our service area.

Our Core Areas of Service

Our volunteer efforts and programming align with our national programmatic initiatives and local community needs:

  • Maternal & Infant Health: We maintain a deeply rooted national partnership with the March of Dimes to fight premature birth, support healthy moms, and fund vital research through our local March for Babies campaigns.

  • Community Wellness & Advocacy: We host and support health fairs, educational workshops, and wellness seminars to address systemic health disparities in our Kansas communities.

  • Youth & Education: We mentor young girls, support local schools, and provide academic scholarships to the next generation of leaders.

  • Social & Civic Engagement: We conduct voter registration drives, volunteer at local shelters, and mobilize resources for community cleanups and seasonal relief.

Current Alpha Epsilon Zeta Service Projects

  • Z-Hope

    Z-Hope stands for Zetas Helping Others Excel. Z-HOPE is an outreach service program that has six primary objectives, corresponding measures of success and a mechanism for chapter recognition.

    The primary objectives are to provide culturally appropriate informational activities according to the Z-HOPE program format and to foster collaborative partnerships between community organizations with shared goals.

  • Eldercare

    Launched in 2014 by Past International President Dr. Mary Breaux Wright, the Elder Care program partners with the Family Caregiving Alliance to support seniors and their caregivers. The initiative focuses on education for healthy behaviors, independence, and aging in place, while encouraging collaboration with local organizations such as AARP and Meals on Wheels.

  • Adopt-a-Highway

    Twice a year, the AEZ team heads out to Kansas City, KS to clean our adopted stretch of Highway K-7 at mile marker 19, keeping our community beautiful.

  • Pearlz in the Wild

    Pearlz in the Wild is a national conservation initiative launched by Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. in partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The program encourages members, youth groups, and local communities to connect with nature, engage in environmental clean-ups, and visit nearby wildlife refuges. Alpha Epsilon Zeta have received national recognition for their success in this program.

  • March of Dimes-Prematurity Awareness

    Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. partners with the March of Dimes to combat the maternal and infant health crisis. Alpha Epsilon Zeta, actively support this initiative by raising funds through March for Babies events.
